FM Melescanu: The US Energy Secretary Rick Perry urged Ambassador George Maior for concordance between the offshore bill and an annex to it

Foreign Minister, Teodor Melescanu, has said on Saturday that the US Energy Secretary, Rick Perry, asked the Romanian ambassador in Washington DC, George Maior, that the Romanian authorities assure the concordance between the offshore bill and the annex which includes the calculations for expenditure deduction. “It is a customary issue for two allied states, members of a strategic partnership. Official consultations are very useful and important when some fears appear. From this point of view, it is routine, it is customary. The only issue related to the concordance between the text of the law and the annex which includes the calculations for the deduction of expenditures for exploitations, given that the offshore drills are much more expensive for the exploitation of natural gas. Furthermore, it was stressed the idea of the US interest in the relations with Romania in terms of energy, which is one of the main issues currently,” FM Melescanu has told Antena 3 TV private broadcaster.

Energy companies are getting closer to paying the new „toll on the pole”. The government has given its tacit consent

The Tax Code is about to be amended to include in the category of buildings, turbine and towers, according to a project proposed by the Ministry of Finance and whose „tacit” approval was passed to Parliament by Prime Minister Dăncilă. Romania’s Justice Ministry starts new selection for anticorruption directorate head

Romania’s Justice Ministry will start a new selection process to find a new chief prosecutor for the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA). The new selection process will start on August 6 and take a month, with the interviews scheduled to take place at the beginning of September and the result to be presented on September 6, Mediafax reported.
