European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker will meet with President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă on Friday and will hold two press conferences with them. In the first part of the day, the president of the European Commission will be received by the head of state at the Cotroceni Palace, and at 11,50 a meeting with the Prime Minister is scheduled at Victoria Palace. According to a press release from the Presidential Administration, the subject of the talks will be linked to the Presidency of Romania at the EU Council, focusing on the main European dossiers that our country will manage during this period. The Arbitral Tribunal gave Borza justice. Hidroelectrica won the EFT AG

The Arbitral Tribunal of Bern (Switzerland) has fully rejected EFT AG ‘s claims for EUR 80 million, representing compensation for alleged non – execution by Hidroelectrica of the electricity supply contract concluded between the parties. Remus Borza, former legal administrator of Hidroelectrica, who denounced contracts with energy traders, made the following statements: „The long epic litigation with the smart boys, which started in June 2012, ends today and recorded 279 trials, either before the Romanian courts or before the arbitral tribunals in Switzerland and the United States or before the national courts from Austria.

First details of the regulated market: Hydro and Nuclear Energy at a cost plus 5%, tariffs set by ANRE and the free market

Domestic consumers of electricity will receive energy at a price regulated mainly by Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica, at a price calculated on the basis of production costs plus a reasonable „reasonable” margin, and the regulation of final prices could be done for all categories of customers households, and the current regulated market (about 7 million customers) and the competitive market (almost 2 million customers).

Legislative chaos. The 2% tax on the energy companies’ turnover could be applied to the turnover achieved in 2018 at free, unregulated prices

Energy operators (producers, brokers, suppliers, distributors and transporters) could pay this year the 2% turnover tax to the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), not the turnover resulting from the new capped (gas) or regulated (electricity) prices, but to the 2018 turnover, at much higher current prices in the free market.
