Iohannis: “Democracy should be strengthened and defended every day”

At the reception organized by the American Embassy in order to celebrate the Independence Day, the Romanian head of state highlighted the importance of the democracy especially in the current tumultuous context. He added that during this time it is essential to maintain unity and solidarity between both shores of the Atlantic.

Minister of Justice is confident regarding the revocation of DNA Chief Prossecutor

Tudorel Toader claims that the President must by all means to respect the decesion of the Constitutional Court. Therefore the Head of State is expected to singn the revocation decree.

Official discussion about  energy security with EU Commission VP

Deputy Prime Minister for Implementation of Romania’s Strategic Partnerships Ana Birchall had a meeting with Maros Sefcovic, Vice-President of the European Commission, with the two officials having discussed the consolidation of the European project and energy security at EU level. At the same time, Birchall said she also discussed with Sefcovic about the energy projects under the Three Seas Initiative, which can contribute to ensuring energy security both in our region and at the EU level.

During his visit to Romania, Maros Sefcovic also met on Monday morning with Deputy Prime Minister Viorel Stefan. Morever, EU Comission VP stated at a forum organised in Bucharest that Romania is the first country to export gas and now the countru become an important partner which may be responsible for the energy security among the entire Europe.

Once exploited the gas from Black Sea, Romania will ensure the regional security. In this regard, I consider that a regional exchange of best practices regarding energy efficiency must take place. (related to BRUA) Our main objective is to diversify the routes and energy supply sources. The energy security level depends on infrastructure projects.
