Government releases the AGRI project from the naftaline in the context of increased deliveries of LNG to Europe
The romanian officials said in Azerbaijan that the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Romania Interconnector (AGRI) project remains important for Romania and that the feasibility study has been finalized showing that it is cost-effective. „The AGRI project is a unique initiative in the Black Sea region, both for the energy security component, diversification of sources and routes, and through the regional cooperation component, which is a common goal of the Energy Union. For these reasons, AGRI remains an important project for Romania and the European Union. On a larger scale, AGRI shows the contribution that liquefied natural gas (LNG) can bring to the EU’s energy security, in line with the EU strategy for LNG and gas reserves, „Tudorache said, quoted by the Azerbaijani press.
