The reference price for crude oil will fluctuate according to the Brent crude oil at the London Stock Exchange

The reference price for crude oil extracted in Romania, now set by an ANRM Order, will fluctuate according to the Brent crude at the London Stock Exchange. The average price of Brent crude oil was $ 70 a barrel in 2018. Gigi Dragomir, the president of the National Agency for Mineral Resources (ANRM), signed the ANRM Order regarding the approval of the methodology for setting the reference price for crude oil extracted in Romania. This is based, in accordance with the accepted criteria on the international oil market, on the results of studies conducted or contracted with specialized institutes in the country (UPG Ploieşti).

The bills of the household consumers will increase with almost 4 lei / MWh from 1^st of March 1 while the regulated ones remain the same

Household consumers who have not opted for the competitive market will pay the same bills, despite the decision of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) to increase the distribution tariff by 2.5% following the introduction of the new 2% business because the increase in the distribution tariff will be offset by the drop in supply charges applied by the Supreme Court Suppliers (FUIs) to households.
