On Oilman’s Day, we celebrate more oilmen in the FPPG family with the addition of FPPG’s newest member, Stratum Energy
On the occasion of Oilman’s Day, FPPG has the honor to once again thank the tens of thousands of people dedicated to this industry, with whose effort and responsibility the beautiful story of hydrocarbon development in Romania is still being written.
The Oil and Gas Employers’ Federation continues to strengthen its position as a representative of the oil and natural gas sector by welcoming Stratum Energy, a renowned upstream company, to its members. Thus, both local and foreign investors, small and large producers, continue to find their voice in relation to the Romanian authorities through the activity of FPPG.
“The Oil and Gas Employers’ Federation is becoming more and more heard and is strengthening its position in relation to the authorities by representing an increasing number of members. Our common voice is essential for the hydrocarbon industry, and we need it especially now, when we face many overlapping crises, challenges such as the energy transition, the role of gas in Romania’s fuel mix and the new regulations aimed at the free market. Together with another one of the most respected companies on the Romanian oil and gas market and promoting the same climate of cooperation, the federation will firmly support the proposed measures for economic recovery, closely related to the encouragement of the domestic production of natural resources”, says Catalin Nita – Executive Director of FPPG.
The energy sector influences the entire international society, and in the context generated by the European energy crisis, Romania can strengthen its privileged position as a natural gas producer and exporter. The development of the energy sector can only be achieved through legislation that stimulates investments in the exploration and production of resources, by diversifying the natural gas market, increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of the energy sector, while also being cautious to provide the best conditions for end consumers. The action plan assumed by the federation, through the support and active involvement of its members, aims at a better correlation of public policies with the need to develop the oil and gas sector both onshore and offshore.
Stratum Energy is a US-based exploration and production company founded in 2005. The company started the production of natural gas, condensate, and crude oil by exploiting fields in the Poduri area, Moinești block, supporting the development potential of the area.
“The gas we continue to produce will help Romania move closer to its goal of energy independence. This is more relevant than ever given the current turmoil in Eastern Europe and we consider the work that we do crucial to increasing stability in the region. In addition to being an active contributor to Romania’s energy security, we look forward to Stratum Energy becoming a core member of FPPG“, said Zachary Ullah, COO of Stratum Energy Romania LLC.
The Oil and Gas Employers’ Federation (FPPG), is established based on the Social Dialogue Law no. 62/2011, is representative at the level of the activity sector “Energy, Oil and Gas and Energy Mining” and through its affiliated companies, represents over 95% of the domestic production of oil and natural gas, the oil and natural gas transport sector, gas supply natural resources as well as a significant part of the activities of refining, marketing and distribution of petroleum products in Romania.
FPPG constantly supports the principles of stability, predictability and competitiveness of the legislative framework applicable to the energy field in Romania, as well as the responsibility of companies in the sector in terms of safety, health and security of operations and personnel.
FPPG is a founding member of the Concordia Employers’ Confederation, the only Romanian employers’ confederation affiliated to the International Organization of Employers – IOE and to Business Europe – BE.
